Tere and Paul’s story will be the first stop on our journey through the Alzheimers disease. Paul shares with us this summary of how Alzheimer’s disease has taken his wife and how despite adversity, he has decided to stand up and fight this cruel disease.

Remember that Paul left his job to care for Tere. Since leaving his job, Paul has had to learn not only to run a household (ironing, cooking, etc.) but also has had to learn the intricacies of taking care of a dependent. Tere cannot be alone at any time of day, and without Paul’s support she does not eat, bathe, or dress herself … Tere has been under the care of Paul and his two daughters for many years. Paul swore eternal love and devotion to  his wife and gives her unconditional care every day although she does not know who he is.

If this is not love, I don’t know what is.
